24 years of 5th Quarter Sports Events: 5th Quarter Iowa Sports currently offers Softball and Basketball Leagues, Tournaments, and other competitions throughout Eastern and Central Iowa. We specialize in events for teams of all skill levels- from experienced to beginning teams. We serve over 600 teams and 6000 children each year. Ever Popular Friday Night Thaw, Odd Ball- Odd Year Challenge, Dynamite D (for developing teams), Crazy 8's (8U and 9U teams only), Homers and Hits, and Lil Miss October. Awards for winning teams in all events. All our events open to USSSA, ASA, Rec, and School Feeder Teams. Friday Evening, April 10- Spring Training Fridays. 2 Games in Coralville. High School and 14U Divisions. Awards for winning teams. Friday Evening, April 17- Spring Training Fridays. 2 Games in Coralville. High School and 14U Divisions. Great warm up before school practice starts. Friday Evening, April 24- Dynamite D (developing level teams) 10U, 12U 14U Divisions. Great for average and beginning skill level teams (lower level team). We try to match teams by experience. Coralville. Friday Night North, May 1 in Waterloo. 2 Games. 8U, 10U, 12U. Great way for our teams from Northern Iowa to get some action in. Great family environment. Saturday, May 9- Dynamite D for average and beginning skill level teams. 3 Games in Tiffin. 10U, 12U, 13U. Great chance for beginning teams to play competitive games. Friday Night Thaw, May 15 in Coralville. Odd Ball- Odd Year Teams. 2 Games for just $135. Awards for winning teams. 9U,11U, 13U divisions. (teams are allowed up to 3 players one year older). Saturday, May 30- First Ever Crazy 8's. Special event for 8U and 9U teams only. North Liberty site. 3 Games. Awards for all players in this event for our youngest teams. Sunday, May 31. Odd Ball - Odd Year Challenge. 3 Games. North Liberty. (teams are allowed up three players a year older). Great way to get games in vs similar age teams. Friday Night North, June 12 in Waterloo. 2 Games. 8U, 10U, 12U Divisions. Great way for our teams from Northern Iowa to get some action in. Great family environment. Fall Events- September - Dynamite D and Homers and Hits Date To Be Determined. Lil Miss October, Sunday, October 4. North Liberty. Over 50 teams play in this each year. 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U-JV. 3 Games. Last year we had softball teams from the Illinois Panthers, Sailor Nation, Belle Plain Craze, Alburnett Pirates, DeWitt Sabres, CR Saints, Fairfax Fusion, Dubuque Little Eagles, Benton Bobcats, Renegades, Williamsburg Pink Raiders, Western Dubuque, Liberty Lighning, MPact, Davenport West, Muscatine Muskies, Easter Iowa Cheetahs, CR Prairie Hawks, Washington Deamons, Jaguars, Linn Mar Lions, Linn Mar Prowl, CR Reds, and many more. 2025-2026 Fall Basketball Events: Christmas Break 3 on 3 Tournaments-

Boys 2 Game Shootout at the Amazing Cedar Valley SportsPlex in Waterloo. Boys Teams Grades 3-6. Low $100 Team Entry. Awards for winning teams. Sunday, January 25 - Little Hoopsters Shootout for Girls Teams Grades 2-3 and Boys Teams Grades 1-2. Lower rims and special rules for beginning teams. Awards for all Little Hoopster Players. At the Beautiful Cedar Valley SportsPlex in Waterloo. $165 for 3 Games. Saturday, February 7. Boys Middle School Shootout. 3 Games with awards for winning teams. Limited to 4 teams in each grade. Boys 7th and 8th Grade Divisions. At the Cedar Valley SportsPlex in Waterloo. Saturday, February 14 - Little Hoopsters Shootout for Girls Teams Grades 2-3 and Boys Teams Grades 1-2. Lower rims and special rules for beginning teams. Awards for all Little Hoopster Players. At the Beautiful Cedar Valley SportsPlex in Waterloo.
